A step in the right direction

I just finished reading this article from the New Hampshire affiliate of ABC. I have to say that I am super impressed. Pretty much it says that although the Civil Union law that goes into effect on Tuesday is a step in the right direction, it still falls very short of allowing gay and lesbian couples the same protections as heterosexual marriage. I knew this. What really surprises me is the tone of the article. Way to go WMUR for setting the record, um, straight!

Happy New Years Eve!

Me and the peeps are heading to a cozy coastal town to bring in the New Year. There will be much eating, drinking, drag queen watching, scary bull dyke avoiding, lipstick lesbian staring admiring, hopefully harmless flirting (“Sorry, I didn’t know she was with you”), bad white girl dancing and lots of other fun things. There will be no driving. We rented rooms. Safety first.

The roommates mom gave me a travel journal for Christmas. Oh what fun this is going to be! Why didn’t I think of this sooner?! Now I will have a written history of the ridiculousness and dyke/lipstick lesbo drama! So much for “What happens in P-town stays in P-town” !

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year! Please be safe.

16 and OH!

logo2.jpg The Pats are perfect. Last nights game had me on the edge of my seat and up way to late. The D better improve or there is going to be big playoff trouble. My peeps thought I was drunk because of my emotional outbursts last night. I only had two drinks. Did they forget about my behavior during the MLB playoffs and World Series? I might have to watch the post season with the Chili’s, they understand.

Happy Birthday, Dude

29 12 2007

Today is my friend’s birthday. Her name is Dude. Well, we call each other dude. This commercial sums it up.

We can speak to each other like this and understand each other perfectly. Dude is a cop. She is a short Italian cop. She tells a lot of stories but when it comes to feelings, she is a woman of very few words. Let me share a story. We were involved in a pretty bad car accident a few years ago. She was fine, I effed up my neck and needed to go to the hospital. While walking out of the hospital I was feeling pretty emotional and lucky to be alive. I wanted to tell her I loved her. The conversation went like this: Me “Dude.” Her “I know Dude.”

That’s it folks. We had successfully said that we loved each other without actually have to use the word “love”.

I could tell you a million funny stories about her but since it is her birthday, I’m letting her off the hook. Shes a good friend, a good cop and a great Auntie.

Happy birthday, Dude. I love like you a lot!

No more guest blogging for me!

29 12 2007

SO here I am, finally. After a few guest blogs over at Blue Door and 117hudson, I have finally decided to start my own blog. Here are the rules: #1. I’ll write when the mood strikes, not a second sooner. #2. Feel free to leave a comment. However, if you say something ignorant, arrogant or just plain stupid, I WILL call you on it. Speak your mind, just be nice. #3. I can add more rules as I see fit. That’s it folks, hope you enjoy.

Oh, before I go, please check out my blog roll. Blue door is my sister, Mrs. Chili. She is the one who suggested I start my own blog. She is pretty smaht and funny at the same time. She does a “Ten things Tuesday” blog that I love.  See the snow  falling on my page? I added that for her. She loves winter! Kizz over at 117hudson is one of the coolest chicks I know AND  she is a great writer. Man, that girl is creative. Over at Derfwad manner we have Mrs. G. Kizz actually pointed me in her direction. I was practictly peeing myself while reading. She has this secret crush thing going on and.. trust me, check her out. Last but not least is California teacher guy. He is (obviously) a teacher who cares very deeply about his students. He inspires me. I wish he was my teacher when I was in school.

Peace,

Auntie

Ps. Who is going to teach me how to link stuff? Mrs. Chili?
