Here are some pictures of the flower boxes I made up this weekend. I am looking forward to watching them spread out and bloom to their full potential!

See the third shot? Behind that is the front lawn that looks like crap. It is actually much better than it was but I still have a long way to go. I have made it my mission for the summer. Wish me luck!

NIce flower boxes. Keep them watered and they’ll be beautiful until October or later if there is a late frost. How nice of you to plant them for the whole household though, the gift that keeps on giving.

Notes on the lawn..you’ve got grubs. It’s too late to treat the grubs that lived over the winter but you can prepare for the newly hatched larvae in August or September. Check out the UMass Turf Management updates. That ‘d be my BEW posting that stuff. For now, you could go roll back the thatch and hand pick the buggers and then roll back the thatch and stomp on it and water it a lot. It’s a very hard time of year to overseed.

I really liked your post about the ten things. I don’t like heights so wouldn’t jump off the bridge. Otherwise, yup.

Luck! If you figure it out, let us know – we have a big chunk of our yard that we’re pretty certain is possessed (or, at the very least, possessed).

A bunch of the flowers I put in my flower pots died. Gotta go back to the Depot and get some replacements…

Chili! Don’t buy you flowers from the depot!! I have not had good luck with depot flowers! They just don’t do very well. Spend the extra money and go to a local green house. Besides, you will be supporting the local economy! Win-win!

Laurie- I already treated for the grubs. Thanks for the tips, I’m going to head on over to the Umass site now!
